Earth Day Roaring River Camp/Hike

While camping at Roaring River State Park near Cassville MO we decided to do the “Fire Tower Trail”.  This loop train is well marked and after the first steep climb up the ridge offering great views to the spring below before it begins to level off.

The next section is well shaded with lots of vegetation including some early May Apples. 

You can go to the top of the fire tower however the tree growth prevented any substantial view as you might find in the fall or winter. The trail does loop but not back to where you started so grab a map before you go.
